For several reasons I recently switched to a plant-based diet. In a nut shell, I wanted to reduce the amount of saturated fat in my diet (I ate a lot of meat), contribute less to animal cruelty, and decrease my carbon footprint. The switch to a plant-based diet was surprisingly easy; especially because I enjoy fruits/vegetables and there are plenty of delicious meat alternatives to choose from.
Fruits and veggies are jam packed with a spectrum of nutrients, but there are some that I just can’t with; kale being one of them. I know it sounds super cool to say you eat kale (said with absolute sarcasm), but I hate the stuff! It’s unfortunate because diet diversification is the best way to ensure your diet is full of the stuff your body needs. I am a firm believer of staying away from most supplements (unless prescribed by your doctor for deficiencies, etc.) because they are often a waste of money; especially when your diet is properly balanced. Don’t you ever question why almost all supplements provide 600 – 800 percent of the daily recommended amount?! The should raise some red flags but I’ll save that for another post. (Disclaimer: some supplements are recommended in larger amounts to help with bioavailability, etc., so my previous statement does not apply to all supplements. I encourage everyone to speak with a professional before consuming any kind of supplement).
SO, the real question is, how do I get the benefits of fruits and vegetables I dislike without having to eat them?! Super Greens is the answer. More specifically, Nested Naturals Super Greens powder. I love Super Greens because it’s made entirely from plant-based ingredients and even packs a little boost thanks to green tea. I REALLY love that the daily recommended value of each ingredient is within a reasonable, healthy range. I usually mix my Super Greens with water and take it on-the-go, but sometimes that can get boooriiiiing. For this reason, it was time to switch it up! Breakfast is when I have the least amount of time but usually crave something super fresh; so I started incorporating Super Greens into my morning meals. Check out my super quick breakfast ideas below to help balance and diversify your diet using Nest Naturals Super Greens!
After you finally give in to temptation, healthy temptation that is, be sure to share your experience with Super Greens and how you like to incorporate it into your daily routine. Comment below!
