Here’s a post where I’m going to tell you to slow down your hectic life and find your happy place … and you should. Seriously, I’m sick of the guilty feeling I get when I take time to myself to do something different, something fun! My escape? Adventures through the forest.
As a kid I grew up next to forest preserves and endless bike trails. The two provided endless hours of entertainment and a sense of serenity. I felt carefree and my imagination ran wild. Nowadays I find myself less adventurous and more basic, but that’s just adulthood, right?
As an adult, I have far more responsibility and less time for flying kites; but that doesn’t mean the fun has to end. Ward Reservation, in Andover MA, perfectly mimics the forest preserves I grew up with and gives me the opportunity to visit my happy place again. This special place, once used to explore my imagination, now provides the perfect environment for me to calm the chaos and focus.
I think it’s important to live a well balanced lifestyle, one that gives you the opportunity to escape for a bit and enjoy what truly makes you happy. Whether it’s running or baking, knitting or going for a drive, I challenge you to make time for your happy place and venture there this week.
I’ve shared my escape, now it’s time to share yours. What helps you to clear the cloudy days? What do you do or where do you go when life gets a little hectic? Share below.
